God of creation
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light
And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the
If the stars were made to worship so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve made
Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I
God of Your promise
You don’t speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
Follow the sound of Your voice
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your
I can see Your heart in everything You say
Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I
If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your
For if everything exists to lift You
If the wind goes where You send it so will I
If the rocks cry out in silence so will I
If the sum of all our praises still falls shy
Then we’ll sing again a hundred billion times
God of salvation
You chased down my heart
Through all of my
On a hill You created
The light of the world
Abandoned in darkness to die
And as You speak
A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve done
Every part designed
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I
Like You would again a hundred billion times
But what measure could amount to Your desire
You’re the One who never leaves the one behind

These words move my heart to a place of surrender, and I stand in awe of the creator of the world. HE SPEAKS. And at the command of His voice creatures are born, trees form and the earth came into existence. The birds caught His breath, and they sang and all of creation bows to His command.
The sun rises and falls at the command of the Father. He puts the dawn in its place, and He halts the tide with His perfect plan. We foolishly credit the moon by keeping the sea at bay, but it’s God who hung the moon there to keep the tide at bay and tide obeys.
He gave it all a name and a place, and it obeys. It does not question Him. It does not boast. The earth never says to the sun, “you owe me,” and the bird never begs to be something it’s not. It just behaves the way it was created to be, and it fulfills its role on this earth. Because all of God’s creation does what it’s supposed to do collectively – we can survive on this planet, and life moves forward. But if none of these things did their job or bowed to the Father, none of this would work.
Maybe nature and animals don’t get a choice, but God loves us so much more than the birds in the sky that He gave us one. GAVE. He didn’t have to; He chose to. And we have the freedom to play our part in this dance, to obey, to fulfill our purpose and be a part of God’s great eternal plan. But we have to choose. We have to surrender. And we have to obey.
