ADMIT YOUR LIMITATIONS AND TRUST GOD!

Most of life comes down to one major decision; I trust myself and that I know what is best for me or admit our great limitations and trust that God really does love us and is worthy of following. We might make this choice to some degree, daily.

For most people, most of the time, we rely on ourselves; our wisdom, understanding, strength, etc. Then, inevitably, we come against that brick wall that seems impossible and cry out to God to do what we cannot. The truth is that even in the small daily places we are incredibly desperate for Him, we just feel it more in the big dramas.

We want all the benefits God has to give, all while we remain the lord of our own lives. We want more wisdom, knowledge, guidance, peace, joy, hope, but we want it our way. We want Him to move in our circumstances, but we want it without having to feel weak, desperate, needy, or uncomfortable. It’s the fear of the Lord that is the beginning of wisdom. Fearing the Lord is not being afraid of Him, but submitting daily to His ways over ours and walking by faith, even when it doesn’t feel good, even when we don’t want to.

This is one of the most practical ways we can love Him back. Our will, trust, love, and heart is the only thing we have to give back to Him in response to His great sacrifice for us on that cross. Jesus isn’t our “get out of jail free card,” following Him isn’t just about praying when things are extra hard, but laying down our lives and wills daily and choosing Him again.

He didn’t die just to be our Savior, but also Lord of every single area of our lives.  “He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.” Ps 145:19
