The space between the promise and the fulfillment of a promise can be challenging to face, especially when God doesn’t deliver for a while or when or how we think He should. In the times the enemy pushes you to give up, DON’T!! Waiting makes us uncertain. It makes us doubt. Trusting God is not very popular in this day and age, and while we may be able to handle the doubt of strangers or even friends, seeing the doubt and confusion in the eyes of own family really hits home. Trusting God may make you look foolish, like you’re losing your mind. There will come times in our lives when people will ridicule us for following Christ.
But I am trusting you, O Lord,
saying, “You are my God!”
Psalm 31:14 (NLT)
Sometimes, all we can do is utter a simple sentence of surrender. That we don’t know how, or when, or why, but that, we trust in HIS PROCESS. Psalm 31:14 serves as such a beautiful reminder that this place of surrender and deep trust has been visited by many before, that we’re not alone in these feelings, and we can trust that God will soon show up, just like He did for David, and astound us all the more. God sees you, friend. He knows what you’re trusting Him for. He’s your God, and He will show up for you, with all the power to open that door you’ve been praying for.
However, we also have to do our part in the waiting. We must allow God to clean us so that when it’s time for our promise to manifest, we will be ready and able to receive it. Do not be discouraged when you face obstacles when taking a leap of faith. I want to encourage you with the truth that the One who knew you before you were formed is working in and through you, no matter what it may seem like in the physical. When you feel your faith is fading, meditate on this word for guidance, support, and reassurance that there is hope.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
