THE LIFE OF A CONSCIOUS CHRISTIAN.

Some of the Bible characters that we read about in the Bible are those that were conscious of their responsibilities and who they were in Jesus Christ. To be conscious is to be alive, to be awake, and to be able to recognize who you are in Christ. Gone are the days when Christians were much more acquainted with the authority they had in Christ. Today, many are no longer alive to their responsibilities in Christ, and they don’t have the assurance to take the Word of God as true and stand on it.
One of the things that God wants you to do is to be cognizant of who you are. When you know who you are in Christ, it would be difficult for the devil to give you a false identity. It would be difficult for anyone to tell you otherwise. The problem these days is that many are ignorant, not well informed. An uninformed Christian is one that cannot be in the right spiritual frame of mind and doesn’t care to know the truth that sets free. You as a believer must be mindful and take notice of every single Word of God concerning you. You must observe the nitty-gritty of the Word of God and be able to perceive in your mind all that God has done for you.

Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me?
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
Free at last, He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
I am chosen
Not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me
Not against me
I am who You say I am
Below are a few areas that you must know as a conscious Christian.
1. WHO IS IN YOU?
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 1 John 4:4 (NLT)
The first thing to be conscious of as a Christian is knowing who lives in you. It begins with a knowledge of salvation. You have to be conscious of the fact that Christ lives inside you. You are not alone. It is not the food that is inside you. The food may be inside you, but right in the prefaces of your soul and spirit is Christ and the Holy Spirit. Remind yourself of this fact constantly, and you will start viewing yourself differently.
2. WHO ARE YOU?
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)
This is one question every Christian must ask him or herself. You will not be motivated to a higher level of achievement or righteousness if you do not know your place in Christ. Well, just in case you do not know – You are a Christian. You were bought with a price. You are a child of the King. You are Heaven bound. You are elect of God. That is precisely who you are. So, if you recognize this, you can begin to take all the right attitude and the responsibility of making who you are a reality. Often times, you have to tell yourself that this is who you are. There is a tendency for you to forget, which is what happens after years of being in the faith and no new things are happening.
3. WHAT CAN YOU DO?
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
When you don’t know who you are as a Christian, then you really don’t know what you can do. Sometimes people depend on others to help them when God can be the succor they need. Some are occasionally dependent on others when they can be independent. You can do far more than you are doing now. You can achieve more spiritually and carnally than you are doing now. You can develop more faith than you are doing now. All this comes from recognizing what you can do. You should be able to use what is in your hands to do so many exploits by the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in you.
4. WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going. John 14:2-4 (NLT)
This is one of the things you should know. All the time you must keep reminding yourself that you are a child of God going to heaven. You recognize that God has delivered you from hell and you are not going to burn in hellfire for the rest of eternity. You are never going to see Lucifer, and you are going to be in heaven, a glorious place where there is no pain nor sorrow, for the rest of eternity. These are the things you probably know, but you must keep reminding yourself of this in that act of spiritual consciousness.
