SIN MEANS "I KNOW BETTER THAN GOD".

The reason why God sent His only son into the world, was to save us from sin. So many of us fail to see the repercussion of sin, so we treat it as if it is nothing serious. If only some of us knew the pain of hell, we wouldn’t toy with sin. We are told in the Bible that everyone was born into sin, or to borrow a phrase from Apostle Paul, we had an “old man” living in us. But for those of us who have found Christ, that “old man” is dead, and as 2 Corinthians 5:17 puts it, we are now a new creation. That nature that forces us to always sin is gone. We are made anew.
Even after being made a new creation, why is it that we still freely sin? One possible reason is that the “old man” that left us left behind a “body.” Just as when a person’s spirit leaves the body behind at death, so did the “old man” in us leave behind habits and strongholds that are not of God. We still sin because our minds are not yet renewed, and not because of a sinful nature. The lives of so many Christians today are in total disarray, and instead of finding out if their calamity is as a result of their sins, they accuse God of not being a good God.
God is the source of all good things, and the devil is well aware of this, so he tries to use sin to separate us from God. Just as when a fish is removed from its source – water, in this case, the fish would find it difficult to live and at some point, it will die. When a tree is uprooted from the soil, the leaf would gradually wither and then later die. So it is with God. When one is disconnected from Him, it becomes difficult to live on a day to day basis. Jesus Christ, Himself said in John 15:5, “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” (NLT) God is our source, and once we are disconnected from Him, life becomes meaningless. One becomes a dead man walking without God.
We were warned of the dangers of sin in so many passages of the Bible, but because God is slow to anger, we take advantage of His long-suffering. We think we know better than God. Some people live their lives as if it belongs to them, forgetting that we all have to give accounts of how we lived our lives on earth. They forget that God is their creator and He can decide whatever He wants to do with their lives. We categorize some sins as “big sin” while some as “harmless.” Sin, whether big or small, doesn’t matter to God. All sins fall short of His glorious standard, and as we were told in Romans 6:23, the ultimate penalty for sin is death. Not just physical death, but also spiritual death.
All of us were conceived in sin and that “by nature” meant that we were children of the devil. That’s the main reason why we sinned. Our sins don’t corrupt our nature, but our corrupt nature makes us sin. Sin is a deadly virus that causes animosity between God and man. We must endeavor to be like Joseph, and flee from every appearance of sin. Because of Adam and Eve’s sins, they were thrown out of the garden of Eden. Sin wouldn’t be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately.
