Reading the Bible has so many benefits that some of us are unaware of. Just like going to the gym daily keeps you fit, so it is with the Bible. The more time we spend with our Bibles, the closer we get to God and grow spiritually. God won’t love us more for just choosing to read his Word- It is simply to our own benefit that we familiarize ourselves with it. Though God didn’t write the Bible Himself, we are told in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that it is “… inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” (NLT)
Psalms 23, one of the popular Psalms written by King David, is one chapter that has all the good tidings one could ever ask for, but because some of us aren’t sensitive to the Word of God, we fail to catch some of these benefits. When we have little problems, we are quick to run to fellow men to help us solve those problems, forgetting that what we need is right in our Bible, ready to be read aloud. A friend shared the explanation of this 23rd Psalm with me, and I was richly blessed by it, hence why I’m sharing it with you.

What more could one ask for? There are so many blessings and more in just one chapter of God’s love letter to us. I hope that this year 2018, we all devote more time to our Bibles. The Bible App will be starting a 21-Day reading challenge tomorrow, to help us build our daily Bible habit. I endeavor us to participate in it. Cheers!
